Elizabeth Fox Joins Hidden Sparks Team as Director of Education

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Fox as Director of Education of Hidden Sparks!

Elizabeth brings to this position extensive experience in professional development and management. For the past 7 years she has worked for the Center for Professional Education of Teachers and the National Academy of Excellent Teaching at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she worked with districts, networks and schools to implement the Common Core State Standards, align curriculum, develop functional teams, and boost Regent’s scores.

Elizabeth also served as the Vice-President and Co-founder of Context Consulting Services, working with teams and administrators to create and support professional learning communities, and as Director of School and Community Programs for the New York City Outward Bound Center, managing 14 school, community and alumni experiential learning programs for students and professional development programs for educators.

Elizabeth co-authored several publications including “Shifting Power”, “The Alignment of Standards and 21st Century Literacy” , “Capacity Building in Small High Schools”, “Changing Systems to Personalize Learning”, and “Encouraging Chaos: Teaching for Depth: Where Math Meets the Humanities.”  (We have made some of these available on our website.)  She has taught a course at Columbia on The Teaching of Reading and is completing her doctorate in Common Core Standards. We are thrilled to welcome Elizabeth to our Hidden Sparks family and look forward to a fruitful year.
